Barry Nectow is a Senior Officer of John Hancock Life Insurance Company USA (JHUSA) and Portfolio Manager of John Hancock's real estate investments including commercial mortgages, CMB securities and the equity real estate portfolio. He is responsible for portfolio strategies to maximize investment returns to all investor clients, internal and external. Mr. Nectow manages client relations with all capital sources. In addition, Mr. Nectow is also responsible for investment in real estate securities and the company’s commercial mortgage securitization program.
Barry Nectow joined John Hancock’s Real Estate Finance Group in 1989 and has played a number of roles in the commercial mortgage operation including loan origination and underwriting as well as loan workouts and dispositions. During 1997 and 1998, he was the director of securitization loan production for the company’s conduit operation and, in 2000, was made responsible for the entire program. Beginning in 1999, he developed a program to invest in high yield real estate securities.
Prior to joining John Hancock, Mr. Nectow was an Assistant Vice President, Commercial Loan Division at USTrust, Boston, MA. He received his BS from Bentley College, Waltham, MA.
