
Phil Freiberger is responsible for the Collateral Review of both the US and Canadian Mortgage Portfolio. His responsibilities include managing the valuation/rating and problem loan resolution process for over 3,700 loans totaling $18 billion in assets. One of his efforts is spearheading the implementation of a single portfolio Collateral Review process across the US and Canadian border with the goal of producing common approaches to valuation, rating, and portfolio reporting.
Mr. Freiberger joined the mortgage and real estate department of John Hancock in 1987, successfully underwriting, producing and managing a large volume of commercial mortgage loans nationwide until 2001 when he transferred to asset management and dispositions. In 1996 he was promoted to Senior Investment Officer.
From 2001 through 2004, Mr. Freiberger was assigned to create and implement disposition strategies for numerous complex problem equity assets. Under his leadership, all of these properties were successfully managed, leased and sold.
Mr. Freiberger received his B.A. in Finance from Indiana University in 1983.
